About Department

The Department of Commerce is one of the oldest departments established at the erstwhile SVUPG Centre, Kadapa to cater the needs of the people of Rayalaseema region in the field of Commerce. Since its inception, the department has been conducting both intensive and extensive teaching, interdisciplinary research activities to standardize the level of higher education in the region, and has earned a reputation in both academic distinction and student discipline. The important thrust areas of the department are Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Cost and Management Accounting and Computer applications in Business.

Learning Resources: Departmental Library

The departmental library has around 400 books contributed by the University, Lecturers, Alumni, Distributers and Students. The library is maintained by the faculty and the books are issued regularly to the students.

Seminars / Conferences / Symposia / Workshops / Guest Lectures Conducted

The Department has been organizing National seminars, Faculty Development Programmes and Student Welfare Programmes. The Department has conducted Five National seminars funded by different funding organizations and organized three national level workshops. The Department places emphasis on enhancing knowledge by conducting guest lectures by the industrialists and other University subject experts, seminars, workshops, field trips, webinars and virtual classes. The students are also engaging themselves in presenting papers on both traditional and contemporary issues, business games, role-plays, group discussions, seminars, quiz, and debates to enable them to get a feel of the work environment. Apart from this, conducts personality development workshops and classes, Communication skills and Career guidance are provided regularly to the students.
